Until April 2021 Daniel was the Artistic Director of Northern Ballet’s “Children’s Ballets”, a project dedicated to commissioning, creating and extensively touring ballets especially designed for children.

This is one of the most successful strands of Northern Ballet’s activities which has produced to date  “Ugly Duckling”, “The Three Little Pigs”, Daniel’s own production of “Elves & the Shoemaker”  , “The Tortoise and the Hare”  ,  “Goldilocks & The Three Bears”. “Puss in Boots” and “Little Red Riding Hood” which is being developed for the 2019/20 season. 

All Northern ballet’s children’s productions to date have been commissioned yearly by the BBC as part of Dancing Beebies – Cbeebies program. “The Three Little Pigs” and “Elves & the Shoemaker” were both BAFTA nominated and “The Ugly Duckling” was BAFTA awarded.

Earlier in 2019 “The Three Little Pigs”, “Elves & the Shoemaker”  and “The Tortoise and the Hare”  made their debut at Cinemas across the U.K. and internationally. “Ugly Duckling”, “Goldilocks & The Three Bears”and “Puss in Boots” will also be released at Cinemas in the very near future.
