“Chaplin, The Tramp” has had its world premiere on the 15th of March 2019 as a timely part of the celebrations of his 130th anniversary. recently working on the world premiere of his next .

This 2 act full length ballet, created with the Slovak National Ballet has been inspired by the life and work of Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin KBE, English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film.

 Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona of “The Tramp” and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.

His career spanned more than 75 years, from childhood in the Victorian era, when he lived in utter poverty, until a year before his death in 1977, and encompassed both adulation and controversy.

The Ballet “Chaplin, The Tramp” will be produced under the licence awarded by Roy Export S.A.S.. The production of this large scale ballet is being held in co-operation with the creative team mentioned below as a work owned by the Slovak National Theatre, created under the leadership and at the initiative of the Slovak National Theatre, funded by the Slovak National Theatre, with kind permission by Roy Export S.A.S.

Along with Daniel de Andrade and Carl Davis, the Slovak National Theatre, will dedicate the ballet production of “Chaplin, The Tramp” to Charlie Chaplin, as a tribute to his life’s work.
